Degree programs

Undergraduate Program

The four-year bachelor’s degree requires 128 credits; the two-year Bachelor’s degree requires 73 credits. The curriculum emphasizes both theory and practice and is divided into three sections. The first section consists of introductory courses and liberal arts (general education) courses. The second section consists of fundamental professional courses, core professional courses, and characteristic courses. The third section consists of elective courses.

Our internship courses include Child Care Practicum, Overseas Child Care Internship, and Interest-based Practicum in Child Care, carried out at children’s learning centers, art classrooms, infant care centers, early intervention institutes, and postnatal care centers. During their internship, students become familiar with a variety of childcare-related professions, such as preschool education, infant care, early intervention, and after school programs.

Postgraduate Programs

The master’s program focuses on research competence in early childhood care and education, teaching, and administration. The curriculum covers child health, education, care, welfare, and administration, and is designed to enhance students’ ability in critical thinking, evaluation, and reflection, so as to be fully prepared for conducting research in early childhood care and development.

The dual master’s program allows students to obtain a master’s of science degree in infant and child care and a masters of education in early childhood education, including Montessori teacher certification. The M.S. degree is offered by NTUNHS, and the M.Ed. degree is offered by a university in the United States.
